Cities of the Interior

This book by Anais Nin really resonated with me. When you're younger you get lured in with the sex but when you grow up, you stay for the Jungian Psychology and the power of myth. "Cities of the Interior" has the great quote; "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." So if someone calls you a narcissist or some such dirty word, They may just be talking about themselves!!

Naming songs "Delta of Venus" was seen as a cynical move by some. The mood that she sets with her writing always stirs words and music in me and I wanted to pay tribute. Mr. Crowley was alleged to have refused to look in her eyes because she had "been alive for a 1000 years." Hard to imagine, It's been 12 summers since we played this one on our various coffee house gigs. I hope we all get a 1000 more!
