At the risk of exposing how shallow I truly am, I have to admit that I've mentally ended relationships on the spot when the unsuspecting maiden expressed disdain for one of my musical heroes. It may have lasted a few more dates(or years) but my mind was set.
I'm very tolerant of a ladies right to have bad taste. Modern Country fans can be quite fun and fun loving. We can Americana and Hurricarana all night long but don't diss my musical heroes.
The most egregious was a date who stated Bryan Ferry's vibrato was "weird" and went on to yellow ticket Elvis Presley and Costello!! I quickly lost that number. It was a mic drop moment when one dinner companion said they hated Tom Waits. More recently, someone had the nerve to make fun of NEIL YOUNG's voice!!! Say what you want about Crosby, Stills, and Nash but Neil is OFF Limits.
