I was never much a fan of Hilburn's rock journalism. Certain writers took it just a bit too seriously; Dave Marsh, Hilburn, Christaugau. I preferred the more irreverent takes of the CREEM writers or the true fandom expressed in TROUSER PRESS,
This book on Simon is informative. I read Garfunkel's autobiography in the Fall and felt that he tried to toot his own horn a bit too much. I guess they are both men with MASSIVE ego's by all accounts. Paul could have thrown Artie the occasional bone. I blame it on short man's syndrome. They both struggled with balding. I was watching "Later with Jools" and enjoyed Paul's jam with Lake Street Dive on wristband. Edie better watch her back!!!!
