The special feature of the Chrissie Hynde Alone DVD is the original Pretenders with Pete Farndon and James Honeyman Scott at Rockplast in Germany circa 1981. This is one of my favorite concerts. I first bought it from a tape trader in the 1990's, so It's nice to have a little better sound quality.
While the 1st two Pretenders albums don't sound dated to me, I was struck by original groups sartorial choices. The boys in the band look like a less under-nourished not meth'd out Tenpole Tudor!! Eddie Tudorpole could have jumped on stage instead of Chrissie and you wouldn't have blinked an eye. My namesakes guitar playing is terrific. I wonder how he would have evolved. We shall never know.
