Rory and Jim talk about "Twilight 4:18"

Rory: Tell me about "Twilight 4:18". I don't take you as Kristen Stewart fan.

Jimmy: No, not really. I love her blank expression in every role she plays though. Believe it or not, my daughter loaded the "Twilight" soundtrack into my I-tunes. When they pop up in my shuffle, they usually catch my ear but I couldn't name one song from it.

Rory: Must not be that good then!

Jimmy: It's just different from my usual listening I guess. "Twilight 4:18" is a very old song. The lyrics came quickly and fully formed one night when i wasn't getting my way. The chords did too but I could never quite play it. I bought myself a cheap Epiphone classical guitar last year. I just love it. The right guitar, no matter what it cost can really inspire me. I had read Anais Nin's "Four Chambered Hear" a few years ago and the male protagonist was a flamenco guitarist. I kinda of channeled the somber mood into the riff. Brooding on a barge in a Paris canal!! Feedback added the counter bass riff that propels it forward. It's still a challenge to sing. I was giving it my best Summer Stock "South Pacific" voice!!

Rory: I guess i can see that(?) What's the title mean?

Jimmy: When i used to live in Jeffersonville IN, there was a house on Riverside drive with a neon sigh that said "Twilight 4:18". I don't think it's there anymore but my companions and I on these late night jaunts across the river would always speculate about what it really meant. One friend had an elaborate vampire fantasy based more on Anne Rice than Stephanie Meyers. When I was finishing the record this summer, I was watching a lot of "Dark Shadows". In my mind, that's when Barnabas Collins is waking up during daylight savings time!! Relationships can be vampiric too: I've sucked and been the suckee!
